This is Ellie! She's a hero. She was nominated by my own daughter, and as soon as my daughter told me that she wanted to nominate her I thought "what a fabulous choice", and I also thought "that's going to be an easy blog to write"!
The reason why it's easy is because Ellie is my daughters teacher. When my daughter first met Ellie it didn't take long before they hit it off, and built a brilliant report with each other. Ellie helped my daughter and her fellow classmates to build confidence. Ellie has an ability to talk to the kids in a respectful and inspiring way. She makes them feel heard and valued. Ellie started working at a school as Teaching Assistant and then decided to become a teacher. She's from a teaching family as her father is a teacher too. She became a teacher in 2004 and she's worked at the same school every since. Ellie teaches Art, Design Technology and PSHE and believes that PSHE should be embedded into every single lesson through education. The importance of children being able to express their feelings, learning about social skills, basic life skillls is of essence to Ellie.
Ellie has a wonderful natural way to talk to the children she teaches, and respects them as individuals.
When I asked Ellie what made her choose to be the teacher she is today, she answered: "Basically I remembered what some of my teachers were like at school and I decided that I wasn't going to be like them"
So here's to Ellie, a hero in young kids lives because of a wonderful job she does day in and day out!
Thank you Ellie
