As the nights a drawing in, I'm already missing my evening walks with my dog in the light summer evenings, so I guess it's time to draw into the studio and get some inspiration elsewhere. On a weekly basis I try to develop what I do in my photography, by trying new things and expanding my portfolio. It's not always easy and it doesn't always work as well as I plan, and it is important to try!
I love spending a whole creative day in the studio at the weekend when I have the time to develop some ideas and play around with the light and the settings. Creativity sometimes flows easily and readily and other times it needs some nurturing. This week, I have tried to make some Christmas cards for customers to order and buy over my website. I've made a couple already and it needs some fine tuning. They are already on my website, however not ready to order yet. Any feedback is much appreciated! Would you buy them?
I'm offering a great deal on a Christmas photo shoots in the studio. The beauty of a Christmas photos shoot in the studio is that people can order their photos online on my website and it will be delivered straight to their door in time for Christmas and can be used as Christmas presents.
Over the last week I have photographed a cute baby, a business man for some linked in profile pictures, some active kids, the Birmingham homeless outreach group and all their work with homeless people in Birmingham, and some architectural shots of Birmingham for a a bespoke showhome room. And the most important photo was of my own daughter who turned 5 years old this week :-)
Next week I'll be going off to Denmark for some creative, recreational time to photograph all the things I love.....I'm sure I'll find a bike or bicycle or two to photograph ;-)
