It's holiday season and I'm so lucky to have a week away in Rhodes. The weather is spectacular and people are friendly and relaxed. I've had a new travel companion on my trip, and my new companion will join me on more trips throughout August too. And my new friend is the Fuji x70!! I fell in love with the Fuji x70 when I had a chance to look at it up close at The Photography show at the NEC in February this year. I instantly liked it when I held it. It's shape, colour and look appealed to me straight away. And the size of it is perfect! I'm a mum to three busy kids and I often just have one hand to hold a camera in, the other hand holding one of the kids hands or a toy or a bag or something. So when I bring my Nikon d750 out it isn't as easy to photograph things.
The x70 has now been in my hands for nearly a week and I love it. It's simple to use and I still get to be in total control of how I take my photos. All the settings I need are right where I need them to be and I totally love the flip screen!! The flip screen allowed me to be a bit clever with angles and also makes it easier to see the screen.
The light in Rhodes is amazing and bright, so it's easier to create beautifully lit photos. I'm taking the camera with me to Copenhagen next week and it will be interesting to see how the Fuji x70 will perform with the lighting there.
This week I've been mainly photographing the normal holiday stuff, like kids splashing in the pool, beaches, sunsets, sightseeing. And the camera has performed brilliantly in every way. It's so easy to hold in your hands and easy to find settings quickly to adjust the camera to what I'm photographing.
So I would recommend this camera to anyone who wants a small, easy, quick and beautiful looking camera. It's suited to both the skilled photographer as well as the amateur.
I'll post another blog next week on how the Fuji x70 did in wonderful Copenhagen.
